Less Effort

Nothing Flashy

traumaattention

First, you notice when you’re triggered and learn to understand and regulate.

Then triggering becomes less frequent and you begin noticing irritation.

Then irritation becomes quieter and you begin noticing distraction.

Then distraction subsides and you begin noticing urgency.

Then urgency melts away and you find softness and warmth.

This doesn’t happen in one dramatic breakthrough.

It accumulates through millions of moments of subtle and intentional adjustment.

By relaxing during a task you signal safety and limit the available energy.

This allows the brain to improve its organization to do more with less.

When you stop compensating with effort, the system has to become more organized.

When force is no longer available, coordination becomes necessary.

What was accomplished through tension can often be achieved through balance.

The resolution of perception increases as the inner noise decreases.

And so the capacity for life grows.

This is not a path to victory. It is a path to mastery.
