Seeing Color

The world is not just black and white. There are many shades of darkness. There are many tones of light. And there's all the stuff in between:The rainbow of life.

The world is not just black and white.
There are many shades of darkness.
There are many tones of light.
And there's all the stuff in between:
The rainbow of life.

It takes a certain slowness,
an ability to stop and look.
Appreciate. Understand.
And watch it change
along the range.
Without you running
for the light switch.

The Red spans from Terror
to Safety, to Presence.

The Orange takes you from Freezing
to Thawing, to Feeling, to Movement.

The Yellow raises you from Adapting
to knowing your Identity,
to being able to Choose who you are.

The Green and its many shades:
Resentment to love, Love to Connection.

The Turquoise and it's breadth from Hiding
to Expression, to Participation.

The Indigo of Confusion
brightening to Insight, to Wisdom.

The Purple taking you from Isolation
to Transcendence, to simple Belonging.

May your Attention know the Difference.
May you Dance in between the heart beats
of Black and White.
May your Breath span the Poles.
May your Heart spiral your Vortex.
May your Rhythm reach to Infinity.

One glimpse of color is so much more
than a lifetime staring into darkness.
To live is to receive the full spectrum
of visible light.

May you have,
the insight to know what you want,
the courage to ask for it,
the capacity to hear a no
and to receive with gratitude and satisfaction.

May you have the safety to pause long enough to feel joy.
May you know the full range of your power.

It's not just pedal to the metal,
gas or break.
You know.
