The Moments
That Were Lost
We're sharing space
but we're on
different timelines.
I'm here now
and you're somewhere
in the future.
You're not with me.
So I grieve
what's possible
right now.
Some day you will look back
and you'll recognize
the moments
that were lost.
But now you're lost
in your head
and your projections.
And maybe that's the value
of spending empty hours
in the same space.
So someday you can remember
The moments that were lost.
So you can grieve
them then
like I do now.
I hope some day
your grief
catches up with you.
So you can find
the present moment.
And bear the weight
of emptiness around you
with me no longer there.
