The elephant in the room

Which side are you on?

attention

We think of the elephant as something awkward we pretend not to see. But the one I faced was vaster, heavier — a presence that filled not just a room, but my whole sense of reality. This reflection is about using all of our senses to meet what’s always been there, silently shaping everything.

You know the story—

hands on leg: a column,

hands on trunk: a hose,

hands on side: a wall.

Someone walks past, without a clue.

Touch. Smell. Taste. Listen. See.

But also—

feel with your emotions (they’re senses too).

Feel with your reason (yes, it’s a sense).

Feel with your intuition.

Feel into your pain—

maybe the sharpest sense of all.

Life is a sense.

We are all sensing it.

And when you put it all together—

the existential dread,

the quantum mechanics,

the general relativity,

the vastness of the universe

and the impossibility of life itself—

you realize:

the elephant in the room is consciousness.

And consciousness can choose love.

Don't be the one who walks by without a clue.
