Time Without Pain

Time is precious.

alivenessattention

Time is precious.
Time is painful.
Time is painfully short.

But the question is not
how to escape time,
it's what for?

You can't answer that question
because the answer is not in words.

One thing I can say is that
we're not here to be stuck.
We're here to unfold.
We're here to perceive being alive.

Perhaps we're timeless
but we're exploring
what happens in time.

And what happens in time is us
but perhaps not all of us.

My time has been defined by pain.

First there was birth.
Then there was abuse and terror.
Then there was running from pain,
which brought more pain.
Then there was grief,
which meant feeling the pain.

But now I know
life without pain is possible.
I can feel it is close.

And I don't know
what it's going to be like.
But I can guess.

One thing I know is that
I can help others
feel what they couldn't alone.
So they can move through their pain.
So they can feel their aliveness.

Another thing I know
is that time is limited
but perception is not.

And pain has been
the fiercest teacher
of perception
I have found.

And for that
I'm grateful.
