Life Under Water
The dragonfly
The dragonfly
doesn't go back
to life
under water.
It doesn't need:
pain as atmosphere,
absence as gravity,
longing as propulsion,
trauma as identity,
silence as verdict,
survival as purpose.
It came from there.
But it doesn’t live there
anymore.
Not because the water
was false,
but because the wings
are real.
